Equestrian Vaulting in the Shenandoah
About Our Team
Equestrian Vaulting is best described as dance and gymnastics on the back of a moving horse. According to the FEI, vaulting is one of the safest equestrian sports, boasting the least number of injuries per year! Safety is our number one concern. All skills are practiced on the vaulting barrel before attempting on the horse. Beginner vaulters will start on the horse at a walk and gradually move up to canter as their strength, skill, flexibility, and confidence increases.
Based near Staunton Virginia, Valley Vaulters was formed in 2017 by head coach Sarah Westman, a silver medalist vaulter with 10+ years of vaulting experience, and 20+ years in the horse world. Our focus is on having fun and building quality skill in this exciting sport. This team is for anyone interested in equestrian vaulting, whether your goal is to compete, improve your riding seat and balance, or just have fun!
